200hr Yoga Study

Online 6 month Training Program
200hr Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Orkney's 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is for those who've felt the particular ache of modern yoga, the sense that something ancient and whole has been flattened into a fitness format. Over six months, one weekend each month, online from your own comfortble space guided by Adele Lidderdale, this training returns you to yoga as it was before it was sold back to us: a systematic path of practice, study, and stillness.

You will develop the skills to teach a grounded, well-rounded multi-level classes and, just as importantly, to teach from lived understanding rather than a text book. This training is ideal for those looking to deepen a personal practice, perhaps into a teaching one and for anyone who has sensed that an hour or two a week is not quite enough to move them.

Our curriculum is built on classical Hatha and contemplative yoga: asana, pranayama, philosophy and meditation are taught alongside a sustained practice of Yoga Nidra. These practices are not as a relaxation add-on at the end of a long day but are presented as the core discipline woven through the full six months. Teaching methodology runs alongside every module, so that by graduation you are not reciting sequences, but teaching from your own practice.

Supporting this is a rigorous study of the texts too many trainings skim past: Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Philosophy, meditation, and Yoga Nidra are given real weight in our hour count — not because they are easier to teach than a strong vinyasa, but because we believe stillness is as teachable, and as necessary, as movement.

The one-weekend-a-month structure gives you roughly three weeks of integration time between each module — space to carry what you've learned into your own life and practice, and to return with real questions rather than passive notes. Training runs in person, in a small, capped cohort of around 12, so that the depth of the material is matched by the depth of attention each trainee receives.

On completion, graduates are eligible to register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance. [SCHOOL NAME]'s Registered Yoga School application is currently in progress — update this line once RYS status is confirmed.
